Macau Government Complex Persp by ZacaX Macau Government Complex Persp by ZacaX
3rd Year Final Project:
Macau Government complex consisting, library, restaurants, marriage registry, lecture hall and parking.

Perspective along the waterfront enclosed by the building.
The horizontal of the design brings down steps by steps to the waterfront, so different strips have different usage.

Thanks for your appreciation! It took hours for me to decide how to deal with the background, but the final touches which is most attractive takes only minutes to finish.

I know how that feels! It seems in presentation drawings the most work goes into the parts you want people overlook. Of course thats a measure of success, you dont want it attracting attention for the wrong reasons, so the focu is in the right place :) I think the background is great, you've got a good balance between computer visual and a hand drawn feel (although im not sure you have hand drawn much?). I always think visuals look most effective when they have a little rawness to them which a fully CAD visual seems to lack.

I would not say I don't do hand drawing much, rather, they are often "not up to standard", which causing not to post them. Up to this point, to be more critical about this drawing, I would think that a little more complexity and in the hand-drawing part and details could improve the drawing much better, is it?

Oh I meant I wasn't sure how much you had hand drawn on this piece? but it has that aesthetic, which is really good, I think sometimes visuals look a bit CAD heavy, but you avoided this!

I think if you were to work on this more it might become overloaded, I think it is just right as it is. I wouldnt want you to change it because it might disrupt the focus.

I get your point, but then sometimes things do get a bit casual as "Another Place".

I like that one! I think our discussion hits on the point- "Architecture is infuriating", haha there is a place for drawings like that in development/concept work, but yes you're right, for a final presentation they need to be more refined.

"Infuriating", hah, a good one, but you cannot deny the satisfaction when concept, design could align in the final presentation/works.

Nice to see some architectural project sited in Macau (i'm from there). But nice concept. I don't know where exactly in Macau this is, but judging that you mentioned the waterfront, it should be close to all those tall casinos/hotel. It's a nice contrast and brings a more pedestrian feel back to the area. I love the abstract qualities of this drawing. Hope to see more!

Thanks for the comment, actually, this should be somewhere next to "青州", where there are mostly residential housing. The design I suggested is trying to link the newly-built podium better to the waterfront.

By the way, thanks for the watch~!

This image has some kick!

Black and white with red highlight is always a good combo, and it's a nice mix of mediums.

very well played sir.

love the connections, everything seem to be extruded in a way that create this small community that is observing the outside, great use of the horizontal circulation to make a full use of the view.

plus your method of presentation is really something, unique yet straight to the point!
I'll be considering doing something like this later in my work if you don't mind.
I told am going to learn from you.

p.s. please excuse my Shortage in architectural terminology, I try my best.

Haha~ you know? I have tried out with spraying paint over the drawing, but the effect was not good. At that moment, there's 3 more hours to review (at 6am), so i decided to the it the old way.

Btw, thanks for your watch always and please try, if you find difficulties please just ask me.

it's always the last minute magic i know better about it =p

i don't imagine sprayed paint would look as clean cut and elegant as this, plus i think this really express the flow of the lines.

I'll always watch, and try to comment,if it was too short then i just couldn't find the right words.

wish me luck, final exams,2 days left.
